For tHe Future

Our design and build processes are very transparent, including keeping all our code open-source. In everything step we take, we consider how that step can align with ‘For The Future’.

Sustainability

Sustainability plays a key role in our design considerations. We want to create a car that is future-proof and environmentally friendly.

Equality

The OUR team is dedicated to ensuring equal inclusion and opportunities for all of our members, regardless of their age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. We invited our members to take part in an anonymous diversity survey in order to better understand how we can support our members and the results can be viewed below.

Outreach

The OUR team is always looking for opportunities to collaborate with educational outreach organisations, as well as opportunities to give secondary school students a better insight into studying engineering and its many possibilities.

Oxford University Racing is proud to collaborate with the charity Universify Education on our first ever outreach event!

In November 2021, Oxford University Racing held our first outreach event with the Oxford-based charity Universify Education, who work closely with state school students through the university application process. They strive to make sure that universities are open to anyone with academic potential, regardless of their background.

“A young person’s chances of attending a highly-selective university are significantly impacted by their family’s socio-economic background, the area they live in, and the school they attend. Our year-long programme for Year 10-11 students from non-selective state schools gives these young people the opportunity to achieve their potential in education.”

Find out about volunteering with them here (applications to volunteer for their 2022-23 programme will open in January): Universifyeducation.com/volunteer
